New England Patriots vs New York Jets Week 18

FOXBOROUGH – In what could be Bill Belichick’s last game coaching the Patriots, the Jets dashed past the Patriots, 17-3, snapping a 15-game losing skid against the Patriots.
The New England Patriots welcomed the New York Jets to Gillette Stadium on Sunday for a game that felt like it was being played inside a snowglobe. Breece Hall led the Jets with 37 carries for 178 yards including the games only touchdown on a 50-yard dash through the snow late in the fourth quarter to put the game on ice.
With the weather playing a big factor from the first snap to the last, it was tough to get the offenses going, with there being 16 total punts and four total field goals made. Greg Zuerlein, Jets kicker, made his third field goal of the day giving the Jets a 9-3 lead early in the fourth quarter. On 4th & 1 at New England’s 37 yard line, Breece Hall took the handoff right and got stuffed for a turnover on downs, giving the ball back to Bailey Zappe and the Patriots.
On the ensuing drive, Zappe dropped back to throw but was intercepted by Ashtyn Davis who was then stripped by Mike Gesicki on his return and recovered back by the Patriots. It seemed like this was the luck the Patriots needed to come out with a win late, in Belichick's potential final game.
That did not last long, two plays later Zappe throws another deep ball, ending up in the hands of the New York Jets defense. Breece Hall broke a 50-yard touchdown the next drive, followed by a 2pt conversion making the score 17-3.
It seems like this game matched what the story was for the Patriots all season long, as they could never really get into a rhythm on offense, while playing a very solid game defensively.
The Patriots will have some decisions to make this upcoming offseason. What is the correct move - will Robert Kraft stick with Bill Belichick at head coach, who will be the week 1 starter at quarterback, and how are they going to load up weapons on the outside? All eyes are now on the Washington Commanders vs Dallas Cowboys to see what draft pick the Patriots will have in April.
4-13 is the worst record under Belichick in the 29 years of his coaching career and the worst record for the Patriots since 1992 when they went 2-14.
